We are developing a plan to help the surrounding community produce their own bricks. Most of the local homes are made of mud bricks. Excess sludge produced as a byproduct of the mine contains a hard concentrate which we intend to use to produce strong and long lasting bricks. With the construction of a small brick plant on land donated by the mine, the local workers will work to make these bricks for local construction sites and potentially sell them to other communities as well as possibly neighboring towns in Bolivia. This co-op project combines efforts to teach environmental sustainability and economic self reliance.
